Quality Inspector
The Quality Inspector will perform in-process, final, and receiving inspections on electrical cable and wire harness assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, customer requirements, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards. We are looking for someone with strong experience in high-reliability cable manufacturing who can independently evaluate workmanship and drive quality assurance on the production floor. Key Responsibilities: Conduct inspections (in-process, final, receiving) on harnesses and subassemblies. Validate solder joints, crimps, labeling, routing, continuity, and configuration. Complete inspection documentation, including NCRs, FAIRs, and inspection reports. Utilize tools such as micrometers, calipers, multimeters, pull testers, Cirrus testers, etc. Ensure compliance with IPC/WHMA-A-620, J-STD-001, and customer-specific requirements. Support first article inspections, internal audits, and root cause analysis. Collaborate with production, QA, and engineering teams to resolve quality issues. Required Qualifications: 3-5+ years of quality inspection experience in wire/cable manufacturing. IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certified Specialist (CS) current certification required. Ability to read schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and work instructions. Strong understanding of cable components, termination methods, and inspection tools. Preferred: J-STD-001 Certification (especially for solder-related work). Experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001 environments. Background in aerospace, defense, or medical manufacturing. Familiarity with ERP/QA systems or digital travelers. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit/stand for long periods and handle small components. Visual acuity and manual dexterity required.
