The institution is headquartered in Montgomery, Alabama with ten offices that service the lower 40 counties of Alabama. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The SVP & Chief Credit Officer provides strategic leadership on the Executive Leadership Team, leads the Association's Credit, IT, and Appraisal departments, and monitors and guides complex and troubled loans and regulatory and compliance requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
:
Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years credit related activity experience preferred, with 5 years in management level positions. The candidate should have strong analytical skills to maintain sound credit underwriting standards and evaluate and structure loan proposals. Responsible for loan approval process, credit policies and procedures, security documentation, credits information and risk management. Also responsible for compliance with credit policies and procedures, credit delivery systems, loan accounting, reporting related to credit activities, portfolio performance and compliance with regulations and law applicable to credit delivery. Experience in all aspects of agricultural lending, including agribusiness, capital markets, and multi-lender transactions preferred. Has considerable un-reviewed latitude for decision making in the implementation of association goals. An in-depth knowledge of credit policies, standards, and procedures is imperative. Excellent interpersonal and time management skills are required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
:
Responsible for the sound administration of the credit delivery function. Supervises and reviews the work of staff for compliance with standards, policies, and procedures to ensure that work products meet association operating and regulatory requirements.
Establishes standards for credit underwriting, credit administration, loan appraisals, and quality control programs for the association. Develops, implements and maintains comprehensive credit policies and procedures. Ensures that all assigned loans are properly risk rated, assigned loss given defaults are correct and performance status assignments are proper. Develops and implements comprehensive budgets, plans, programs and procedures. Develops performance standards, objectives and corrective action plans for credit and/or branch office operations. Directs the approval and monitoring of large and/or complex loans to include establishment of lending requirements and supervision of field servicing activities. Approves credit actions that exceed the delegated authority of credit and/or branch offices. Serves as a key member of the association Loan Committee. Develops and implements the credit risk management process. Oversees and monitors the credit information and risk management function. Serves on various association committees in the areas of management, operations, credit, and property assets for the development and implementation of short and long-range objectives, plans and programs. Works directly with the CEO to execute the credit function along with the credit personnel. Promotes the association through civic involvement within the market and establishes business relationships with agricultural producers, business leaders, and rural landowners while cultivating these relationships to expand commercial opportunities. Works strategically with the Chief Lending Officer to meet business objectives. Coordinates appropriate training and development for personnel to ensure sound credit administration, personnel practices, and compliance with company policy. Maintains awareness of agricultural trends and business activity, FCA regulations and legal obligations.
