JOB OPENING: Forge Operator
Location: Carol Stream Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM Pay: $18.00 per hour
We are seeking hands-on, mechanically inclined individuals to join our forging press team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for the safe and efficient forging and trimming of automotive hub bearings. You’ll work in a 2-3 person team environment with access to top-tier equipment and real responsibility from Day 1.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate and adjust forge and trimming presses according to safety and quality standards. Perform tooling changes, including forging/trimming dies and trim cassettes. Set up and run the billet furnace and billet hopper. Read and understand part/tool blueprints and 3D settings. Use gauges to verify proper part dimensions. Operate overhead crane and forklift (if certified). Train new team members and support smooth line operations. Follow all PPE rules, safety protocols, and practice 5S. Complete accurate documentation of quality and production control. Other duties as assigned. What You Need to Bring:
High school diploma or GED. Experience in a manufacturing environment or strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to read blueprints and tooling drawings. Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and physical work. Capable of running equipment and performing full changeovers unsupervised. Strong troubleshooting and quality control skills. Proficiency with basic shop math and technical documents. Willingness to learn, train others, and work as part of a tight production team. Must pass written and hands-on tests per company standards.
