About the Program The Bindery Apprenticeship Program is a structured, hands-on training initiative designed to prepare individuals for a professional career in the commercial printing and finishing industry. Apprentices gain real-world experience while learning essential technical skills in folding, stitching, trimming, and binding. Eligibility Requirements Applicants must meet the following criteria: Minimum age: 18 years old High school diploma or equivalent Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity Willingness to work in a team and take direction Commitment to completing a multi-month apprenticeship program Program Structure Duration: 4-year structured training Format: 60% on-the-job training, 40% classroom/lab-based instruction Modules include: Introduction to Bindery Safety & Tools Binding Techniques Equipment Operation Finishing & Quality Control What You'll Learn History of the Bindery Industry How to safely operate bindery equipment Techniques for stitching, folding, and binding Identifying and correcting common bindery errors Understanding paper types, grain, and weight Tool and machines used in the bindery operation Interpreting job tickets and finishing instructions Benefits of the Program Hands-on training with experienced professionals Weekly mentorship and skills assessments Opportunity for full-time employment after completion Competitive hourly pay during training How to Apply Online Application: Visit the Apprenticeship SharePoint page or company careers page.
