Basic Description:

Responsible for all audit/review of past due mortgage loans on all stages of delinquency to ensure compliance with all government, investor, and client guidelines. The position is also responsible for training, supporting staff in the Default department, managing assigned accounts as a Single Point of Contact (SPOC), and ensuring timely and accurate reporting of default-related data.

This is a hybrid position.

Responsibilities: Act as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for a designated group of delinquent borrowers, ensuring consistent communication and guidance through the loss mitigation process. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of borrower contact, document submissions, and resolution efforts within the servicing system. Audit and update Default reporting regularly to ensure company compliance with all applicable government, investor, and client guidelines. Prepare, review, and distribute default-related performance reports, including delinquency, workout pipeline, and claims tracking. Provide feedback to all Default departments to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Assist the Team Lead with credit reporting and overflow of claims across all investors. Support the Collection Department by handling the overflow of inbound calls. Submit requests for deferments and other financial hardship assistance as defined in the procedure. Engage in foreclosure prevention efforts through loan modifications, repayment plans, short sales, and Deed in Lieu options. Analyze and underwrite borrower financials (e.g., income, tax returns, credit, appraisals) to determine the most appropriate resolution option. Identify process improvement opportunities to reduce loss exposure, increase efficiency, and improve the borrower experience. Perform other duties and projects assigned by Management. Work flexible hours, including overtime as business needs require. Requirements:

Qualifications & Skills: 2+ years of mortgage servicing experience required. 2+ years of direct Loss Mitigation experience. Working knowledge of mortgage documents and understanding of the full mortgage life cycle. General understanding of agency loan servicing requirements: FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA. Experience with default reporting tools and MSP preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain borrower relationships. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines. Strong judgment, discretion, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and investor guidelines independently.
