Position Overview:

We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic

Learning and Development Specialist

to design, implement, and manage innovative learning programs that foster employee growth, engagement, and adaptability. The Learning and Development Specialist will partner with HR leadership, department heads, and subject matter experts to align learning initiatives with organizational goals, ensure measurable business outcomes, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position, working remotely with occasional visits to the Palatine, IL office. What we offer: Competitive Compensation:

Salary range $65,000–85,000 based on experience. Comprehensive Benefits:

1. Strategic Alignment Collaborate with leadership and HR to ensure all training and development programs covering both technical and soft skills- are closely aligned with the organizational strategy, vision, and workforce plans. Partner with department heads to customize training that addresses evolving business needs and drives measurable results. Promote a culture of continuous learning and skills development throughout all levels of the organization. 2. Skills Assessment Conduct regular skills gap analyses and workforce capability assessments. Use data and market trends to identify emerging skills needed for future business success. Partner with subject matter experts to ensure learning priorities align with business objectives. 3. Program Design Develop and implement comprehensive, personalized, and role-specific learning path training programs that address both technical competencies and soft skill requirements for employees. Utilize modern instructional tools, AI driven recommendations, microlearning, on-demand content, possible simulations, and gamification to enhance engagement and retention. Integrate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into all training content. 4. Program Execution Manage the full lifecycle of training initiatives, including planning, resource allocation, logistics, and platform management. Coordinate mentoring, peer-to-peer learning, and community-based learning initiatives. Provide direct training to participants and facilitate “train the trainer” sessions as needed to empower others as instructors. Manage vendor partnerships, technology tools, and compliance for training programs, supporting operational efficiency. 5. Impact Measurement Track participation, skill development, and ROI for all learning initiatives. Leverage analytics and feedback to continually assess and improve the impact of all training initiatives. Provide regular reporting to leadership on learning outcomes and industry benchmarks. Requirements:

Strong time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proven ability to design and deliver impactful learning programs. Strong analytical skills with experience using data to measure learning effectiveness. Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), instructional technologies, and Microsoft Office 365. Ability to provide direct training to participants and facilitate "train the trainer" sessions to empower others as instructors. Bonus: Experience in water treatment, manufacturing, or technical service environments. Reliable transportation. Must be available to travel occasionally to the HOH office in Palatine, IL for planned meetings. A dedicated, distraction-free home workspace is required when utilizing remote work options, along with access to reliable high-speed internet to ensure productivity and alignment with company performance expectations. Must pass a drug screening and relevant background checks. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
