The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, with a strong focus on grant and general ledger accounting. This role supports organizational growth and impact by stewarding public and private funding, developing compliant grant budgets, and partnering with program teams. The Senior Accountant will also lead inventory tracking, cash reconciliation, and monthly close support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Develops federal and foundation grant budgets in collaboration with the Director of Grants & Individual Giving and program staff. Manages both operating and grant-related general ledger accounting; ensures accurate recording of all revenues and expenses using Sage Intacct. Monitors and reports on grant revenue, expenses, and variances from budget; prepares monthly grant reports. Reconciles monthly vouchers and balance sheet accounts; inputs journal entries. Manages data and coding for monthly reporting and assists managers in interpreting financial data. Routinely audits payments and recorded revenues. Prepares monthly financial reports, including revenue and expense analysis and cash flow. Audits and records cash handling and inventory at multiple sites. Supports compliance with HRSA and other funder requirements. Collaborates cross-functionally with development, program, and clinical teams to support grant execution and tracking. Provides training and technical assistance to program managers on financial policies and budget interpretation. Assists with preparation for audits, site visits, and cost reporting submissions required by federal or state funders. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications: This role requires a detail-oriented finance professional who can manage complex grant and healthcare accounting while supporting compliance, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration in a mission-driven environment. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or Master’s in Accounting/Finance preferred. Minimum three years of progressive accounting experience, including grant accounting and financial reporting in a nonprofit or healthcare setting; experience with Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience managing federal, state, and foundation grants. Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Familiarity with Sage Intacct or similar accounting systems preferred. Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. This range represents the potential compensation for the role based on experience, tenure, and performance over time. Most new employees can expect an initial offer within the lower portion of the range, reflecting factors such as prior experience, internal equity, and organizational budget. Salary progression is evaluated regularly to support professional growth and retention.
