As a DSP, you’ll be a vital part of that mission—providing hands-on care, encouragement, and advocacy every day.

Position Summary The Direct Support Professional provides direct care and support to individuals in a Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) setting. This includes assisting with daily living activities, implementing personal plans, and fostering a safe, respectful, and engaging home environment.

Key Responsibilities

A. Individual Support & Supervision Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of residents Assist with activities of daily living (e.g., hygiene, mobility, meals, toileting) Administer and document medications per policy Support residents in preparing meals, attending appointments, and engaging in community activities Serve as a positive role model and advocate for residents’ rights and choices B. Program Implementation Participate in the development and implementation of Personal Plans Implement behavior support strategies and skill-building programs Document progress, complete assessments, and communicate updates to the Program Manager Attend interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning C. Community & Household Engagement Plan and supervise community outings and leisure activities Assist with household tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal prep Support residents in developing independent living skills Substitute for the CILA Home Supervisor as needed D. Organizational Responsibilities Comply with all agency policies, safety protocols, and confidentiality standards Report incidents, suspected abuse, or misconduct in accordance with regulations Participate in required training and maintain DSP certification Maintain a clean, organized, and functional workspace Education: High school diploma or equivalent (additional education preferred) Experience: Experience working with individuals with

intellectual/developmental

disabilities preferred Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Basic computer literacy and documentation skills Physical ability to lift, assist, and support residents as needed

Requirements:

Valid Illinois driver’s license and automobile insurance DSP certification (or willingness to complete training upon hire) Closed-toe, non-slip footwear required Professional, safe attire appropriate for direct care Looking for someone to work 7:00am to 3:00pm shft Saturday and Sundays
