Defense Associate Attorney

Job Overview : A well-established boutique law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with a minimum of one year of litigation experience in Florida, preferably in the insurance defense field. This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing insurance defense division and contribute to a high-energy, multi-office firm. The ideal candidate will have experience handling a variety of legal matters, including court appearances and depositions, with a focus on providing effective defense strategies in insurance-related cases. Location : Coral Gables, FL Duties : Manage a high volume of cases, ensuring deadlines are met and tasks are completed in a timely manner. Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and draft correspondence. Handle court appearances, depositions, and client meetings. Work with senior attorneys on complex insurance defense matters. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous time records in accordance with legal billing guidelines. Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court. Requirements : Minimum of 1 year of litigation experience in Florida, ideally in insurance defense. Law clerk or similar legal experience may be considered toward the one-year requirement. Ability to multitask and handle a large caseload in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and self-motivated work ethic. Ability to manage court appearances and take depositions. Education : Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications : Must be licensed to practice law in Florida. Skills : Strong legal research and writing skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of legal billing procedures and time tracking. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
