Position Overview Paramount Events are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Catering Prep Cook to join our commissary kitchen team. The Prep Cook will assist in the preparation of ingredients and components for off-premise catered events, ensuring that all food items are prepped, portioned, and ready for final cooking or assembly. This role is essential to maintaining efficiency and consistency in our catering operations.
Key Responsibilities Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion ingredients as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef. Assist with the preparation of sauces, dressings, marinades, and other components for catered menu items. Properly label, store, and organize prepped ingredients to maintain freshness and food safety. Follow standardized recipes and production sheets to ensure accurate preparation. Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep stations, kitchen equipment, and storage areas. Assist with packing food and supplies for transport to event venues. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards in compliance with health regulations. Support the culinary team with any additional tasks required to meet production deadlines. Requirements: Qualifications Previous experience as a
Prep Cook , Kitchen Assistant, or similar role preferred. Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, knife handling, and food safety practices. Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a
high-volume, fast-paced environment . Strong teamwork and communication skills. Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event needs. Schedule · Morning (04:00 am - 12:00 pm) 4 days Flexible schedule needed, some weekends required Must have 2 years of high end, high-volume line/prep experience. Must have Food Handlers Certification Bilingual candidates preferred Full time or Part time Free shift meal. PTO and Sick Time Pay. Physical Requirements · Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks. · Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and handle large containers or trays. · Comfortable working in hot, cold, and humid kitchen environments.
