The ideal candidate will be a certified respiratory therapist committed to providing exceptional patient care, demonstrating strong knowledge in respiratory therapy. Respiratory care is ordered by physicians based on established standards, practices, and protocols. As a Respiratory Care Practitioner, you should possess a working knowledge of human respiratory anatomy, physiology, and pathology related to respiratory care. You should be familiar with the operation of respiratory care equipment and its clinical application. The role requires assessing hazardous conditions related to respiratory care and taking corrective actions. The ability to work with patients of all ages (neonatal to geriatrics), remain calm under stress, and communicate effectively with diverse individuals is essential. Assess the physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of patients, including educational needs, and document appropriately. Refer to competency validation documents for the populations served where applicable. Perform all respiratory therapy treatments and services, including application, operation, monitoring, and management of equipment such as oxygen, mixed gases, humidity, ventilators (invasive and non-invasive), bronchial hygiene, lung expansion, spirometry testing, EKG machines, and blood gas analysis. Employ therapeutic communication, interviewing techniques, problem-solving, and crisis intervention skills during patient care. Respond to emergencies, perform CPR, maintain airway, provide oxygen and ventilation via various devices, and perform closed-chest cardiac massage as needed. Facilitate workflow efficiency by monitoring interdepartmental systems, departmental policies, and procedures, and recommending improvements. Review electronic medical records and physician orders throughout the shift. This position offers a hiring range of $35.012 - $59.012.
