Data Engineer (ETL, Cloud Warehousing & Automation) Product Management Full time Position Overview As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the data architecture that supports analytics, reporting, and machine learning across our digital platforms. You will collaborate closely with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to ensure our data infrastructure is reliable, efficient, and scalable. This role is remote and open to candidates based in Sri Lanka, offering the opportunity to work on global data initiatives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to integrate data from multiple sources (e-commerce, CRM, marketing, etc.). Build and optimize data models and cloud data warehouse solutions (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift). Automate workflows and processes to support analytics and dashboarding needs. Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security across platforms. Collaborate with analysts and BI team members to turn business requirements into scalable data solutions. Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and monitor system performance proactively. Develop and maintain technical documentation for data systems, pipelines, and processes. Assist in data governance and compliance initiatives (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Stay current with best practices in data engineering and recommend improvements as needed. Required Skills & Qualifications 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role. Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses is a must (e.g., BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift). Proficiency in SQL and data modeling. Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Talend) and scripting in Python. Experience in an e-commerce or retail data environment will be an added advantage. Knowledge of Google Analytics, Zoho CRM, and other marketing/sales data sources. Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or Metabase). Personal Attributes Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented mindset. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative remote team. Clear and professional communication skills in English.
