Purchasing Specialist
to join our PVF team.
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing Specialist to join our PVF team. This role is responsible for sourcing critical parts, issuing and tracking purchase orders, and maintaining inventory and invoicing accuracy. The ideal candidate is a problem-solver with a keen eye for detail. This is a fast-paced, deadline-driven role that requires adaptability, strong communication skills, and a collaborative approach, particularly with our sales and warehouse teams to maintain optimal stock levels and support forecasting.
Key Responsibilities: · Source and procure parts based on customer needs and sales forecasts · Issue purchase orders, monitor delivery timelines, and follow up to ensure timely receipt · Track vendor shipments and resolve delivery issues to ensure continuous material flow · Maintain accurate purchasing records: including purchase orders, invoices, material testing reports, and receipts · Monitor inventory levels and incoming orders to ensure stock availability · Forecast and order parts to maintain optimal stocking levels · Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to improve cost efficiency · Manage invoice approvals and resolve discrepancies with vendors · Collect, manage, and apply purchasing data to identify trends and inform future decisions · Coordinate with sales, production and warehouse teams to align purchasing schedules with operational needs Requirements:
Required Skills & Qualifications: · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) · Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills · High attention to detail and accuracy · Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment · Basic understanding of supply chain principles and logistics · Strong data analysis skills
Preferred Experience: · Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain is a plus · Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus · Experience in the steel industry is a plus
