As a
Powder Coat Technician II , you'll play a vital part in the surface finishing process, preparing parts for coating and ensuring every step from cleaning to final inspection meets strict quality and safety standards. You'll collaborate closely with production and quality teams, working independently while contributing to a culture focused on operational excellence. Key Responsibilities
Prepare parts for coating by washing, taping, plugging, sanding, hanging, and scrubbing
Comply with all safety policies and proactively identify hazards or quality issues
Inspect materials and flag defects or deviations from standard to supervisors or designers
Perform quality control checks and maintain documentation per standard procedures
Understand and execute color changeovers and powder spray techniques
Retain and apply job-specific knowledge to improve speed, accuracy, and quality over time
Support continuous improvement initiatives in safety, quality, and workflow
Troubleshoot basic process or equipment issues independently
Work efficiently with minimal supervision while meeting daily output expectations
Ensure finished parts meet or exceed company standards for PPM and surface quality
Recommended Qualifications
Prior experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or finishing operations
Ability to interpret work instructions, safety protocols, and inspection criteria
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and cleanliness
Self-starter mindset with ability to manage time and tasks independently
Working knowledge of the coating process and surface prep techniques
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with chemical wash processes or automated spray systems
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices or continuous improvement tools
Proven track record of meeting quality benchmarks in a fast-paced environment
Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and minor equipment adjustments
