Part-time Student Assistants

to serve as

Studio/Lab Monitors for the Photography, Graphic Design, and other Adobe Creative Cloud studios/labs at SCC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Monitor assigned areas during open hours Ensure a safe working environment in the assigned area Ensure all students depart the assigned area after hours Work closely with the Department of Public Safety (DPS) to open and secure studio spaces Supervise the assigned area to deter damage and/or theft of SCC equipment Assist with the cleaning, maintenance, organization, and inventory of equipment in assigned area Assist the Studio Technician or Faculty on day-to-day tasks such as:

Troubleshoot printers, peripherals, computers, etc. and submit trouble tickets when required Check-in/-out equipment in studios Special projects where needed.

Other duties may be assigned as needed. Examples may include:

Assist in the set-up, prep, tear-down, and clean-up of transitioning studio environments Assist Faculty and students in finishing artwork for presentation using techniques such as dry mounting and matting

Must demonstrate a high degree of professionalism, use sound judgment, and remain flexible as demands and priorities change. Be sensitive to the needs of a diverse student population. Qualifications/Requirements:

GED is required. Must be a St. Charles Community College student. This position is also available to students who qualify for the Federal Work-Study Program. Photography & Graphic Design / Visual Arts majors are preferred, but not required. Being proficient in Apple computers and our specialized print system is preferred.
