Senior Financial Officer Countybank Location: Greenwood, South Carolina | Reports On-site to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Position Summary Countybank is seeking a Senior Financial Officer (SFO) who will engage the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to make strategic financial decisions in its diverse range of financial services. This role is responsible for increasing profitability to enhance shareholder value and is designed for a strategic, forward-looking finance professional. As SFO, you will be more than a steward of financial data-you will be a strategic partner and catalyst for growth, helping to shape the financial future of a growing, community-focused institution. You will work closely with the CFO and the SLT to drive performance, optimize capital, and ensure long-term financial soundness. This role is ideal for a finance leader who thrives on solving complex problems, influencing change, and building the financial infrastructure of tomorrow. The SFO is expected to be an active and visible leader in the organization as well as in the community, building strong local relationships, serving on boards, and cultivating a network of peers across the state's banking industry to enhance Countybank's presence and influence. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Financial Leadership: Partner with the CFO and SLT to align financial strategy with long-term business goals. Serve as a thought leader in capital planning, profitability, and enterprise risk management. Performance Optimization: Identify and address areas of underperformance across business lines, markets, and customer segments. Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement improvements that enhance profitability and efficiency. Financial Planning & Analysis: Lead the Bank's forecasting and scenario modeling processes. Establish financial targets for the annual budget that support strategic priorities and growth initiatives. Capital & Liquidity Management: Oversee balance sheet strategy, interest rate risk, and liquidity planning. Maintain robust contingency funding and capital plans. Executive Reporting: Deliver clear, actionable financial insights to the SLT and Board. Translate complex data into strategic recommendations. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure alignment between financial strategy and operational execution. Business Line Performance Oversight: Monitor financial performance across all lines of business, including commercial and retail banking, SBA lending, trust, mortgage, insurance, and investment services identifying opportunities and solutions for higher performance. Associate Engagement: Serve as a visible leader throughout the organization engaging will all markets, locations, and groups of associates. Deliver financial reports tailored to the audience in an engaging and clear format. Material shared should be customized for the attendees such as all associates at a company-wide event, a quarterly meeting with department managers, virtual calls open to all associates, or team huddles in various markets, business lines, or support areas. Investment & Treasury Support: Contribute to investment portfolio strategy and capital allocation decisions. Financial Innovation: Develop dashboards, KPIs, and real-time analytics to support agile decision-making and continuous improvement. Strategic Initiatives: Lead or support key initiatives such as new product development, new market areas and strategic partnerships. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, internal controls and risk management frameworks. Community and Industry Engagement: Serve as a visible leader in the community and the banking industry by actively participating in civic organizations, serving on local boards, and cultivating a strong network of peer relationships with regional community banking professionals to enhance the bank's reputation and influence. Technical Expertise Required:
Deep understanding of banking financials, including balance sheet management, interest rate risk, and capital adequacy. Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis. Familiarity with Asset Liability Management tools and treasury functions. Strong command of financial systems and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or other data analytical tools. Knowledge of regulatory reporting and compliance in a banking environment as well as a general understanding of GAAP and banking-specific accounting standards. Experience supporting or leading audit and examination processes is a plus. Soft Skills & Leadership Attributes:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. Master's degree preferred. CPA preferred. 10 plus years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 5+ years in a financial institution. Experience with complex community bank structure including mortgage, trust, SBA, commercial and retail banking, insurance, and investments preferred.
