Overview : HKS is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join our Health Interiors team. A recognized leader and certified Interior Designer responsible for delivering exceptional design and project execution on time and within budget. The candidate should possess strong communication skills, a flexible attitude, creative problem-solving abilities, and the capability to foster and manage effective client relationships. The role involves making high-impact decisions and endorsing the firm’s values through client service, innovation, and communication. The Senior Interior Designer acts as a subject matter expert for design solutions. Responsibilities : Lead the team in planning work and developing solutions for technical and design challenges. Build and strengthen client relationships by understanding their project mission, goals, policies, and needs. Lead the development of interior concepts based on client vision, desires, and architectural context. Utilize creative thinking to develop innovative solutions. Manage client expectations, team communication, and consultant coordination to meet project objectives. Prepare and review detailed implementation documents such as interior plans, fixture plans, elevations, and details. Supervise the preparation of design details and drawings to ensure quality control focused on design integrity. Generate project documents and schedules, manage budgets, and keep projects on schedule. Collaborate on developing cost estimates for design proposals. Participate in all design phases including programming, conceptual and schematic design, design development, document preparation, and construction administration. Enhance design through specialization in FF&E sourcing, selection, custom design, and specifications. Attend on-site visits, field reviews, and project meetings. Lead or participate in team meetings to discuss project, technical, and coordination issues. Mentor and develop staff professionally, fostering a diverse talent pool. Manage conflicts effectively and promote a healthy team environment. Coordinate project management efforts to satisfy budget and schedule requirements while ensuring quality. Support business development by identifying new opportunities, marketing to existing clients, and assisting with proposals and budgets. Maintain and cultivate key relationships. Lead proposal processes and participate in contract negotiations. Participate in marketing interviews as needed. Qualifications : Accredited professional degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field, or equivalent experience. NCIDQ certification is required. Experience with the entire project lifecycle, including post-occupancy. Sustainable design accreditation is preferred. Typically 15+ years of relevant experience. Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Photoshop, Illustrator, and SketchUp preferred. Understanding of 3D Studio Max and InDesign is preferred. Knowledge of FF&E software is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office Suite is preferred. Advanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines. Strong graphic, visualization, and presentation skills. Ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both verbal and written forms. LI-KT1
