Job Description
The Prefab Entity Insurance Coordinator (PEIC) assists one or more of DPR’s subsidiaries with insurance and surety counseling, compliance, and insurance/surety risk management. The PEIC will work closely with prefab entity operations/risk/contracting teams, the DPR national insurance team, as well as prefab entity customers and vendors. The PEIC will be the Prefab Entity(ies) insurance expert and will maintain general knowledge about how DPR’s national insurance team manages enterprise insurance and surety. Key Responsibilities
Prime Contracts : Assist Prefab Entity(ies) with review and compliance with prime contract insurance requirements, including reviewing RFPs and proposed contracts during the proposal stage, escalating risk issues to the DPR corporate insurance team, and ensuring deliverables such as certificates, bonds, and policies are attained and delivered. Vendor Contracts/Compliance : Develop, enhance, and maintain processes for vendor insurance/surety compliance, including high-risk operations like crane operations and temporary labor; work with contract administrators on insurance risks; recommend acceptance or rejection of modifications; ensure proper additional insured requirements are in contracts. Counseling/Training:
Stay informed on emerging risks and arrange counseling on insurance/surety coverage through the national insurance team. Prepare and deliver training on coverage areas such as property risks, installation coverage, professional liability, pollution liability, builder’s risk, worker’s compensation, and DPR claims processes. Project-Specific and Controlled Insurance:
Assist Prefab Entity(ies) in working with the national insurance team on project-specific insurance placements. Manage compliance with controlled insurance programs and ensure coverage for project extensions. Participation:
Attend prefab entity operations meetings, project kickoffs, and other forums to develop relationships, identify emerging risks, and provide training as needed. Participate in DPR monthly insurance practices and national insurance team meetings. Reporting Structure The PEIC is a member of DPR’s national insurance team and reports to the DPR National Insurance Coordinator Leader, with a dual reporting relationship to one or more leaders of the DPR prefab entities being serviced. Construction Industry Expertise Team player Ability to research the prefab entity(ies) structure and operations to strengthen risk management Strong listening and communication skills with internal and external partners Construction industry insurance/contracts experience (manufacturing experience a plus) Self-Starter Professionalism Integrity Highly organized and responsive Business Process Improvement Knowledge of SharePoint and CMiC a plus Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Qualifications:
Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS) certification (other certifications such as Transportation or Manufacturing as applicable) Minimum of five years relevant experience Previous experience in a construction company insurance/risk department preferred Applicants: In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Salary is just one component of DPR's total compensation package. California Pay Range: $30.48 to $67.92 per hour.
