Your New Role…

CNN seeks a talented Associate Producer to join the Laura Coates Live team in New York, NY!

Your Role Accountabilities…

The Associate Producer works closely with show producers to find the best video and elements for segments and packages within CNN systems and elsewhere.

The Associate Producer cuts soundbites and VOs, produces in-house packages, orders and creates graphics, and cuts down pre-taped interviews. He/she is responsible for calling elements in the control room.

The AP is also responsible for pitching both package and guest ideas for the program, and helping producers with research for guest segments. He/she must work closely with rights and clearances, the affiliate desk, and assignment desks to ensure the best video is used and sourced properly.

The Associate Producer must code video and create banners, and work under extremely tight deadlines.

The AP will also work closely in the control room with writers, line producers, and senior producers on the best sound bites and VOs for live reads and teases.

Qualifications & Experience…

Minimum of three years experience in network television or major-market news production.

Familiarity with CNN video databases such as Mediasource and Miraya is helpful.

Graphics production experience, including experience with the "VizPilot" graphics device, is helpful.

Non-linear video editing experience is also important.

Must demonstrate strong research skills.

Experience in live control room is a plus.

Must be team-oriented, able to take direction from producers and control room personnel, capable of meeting deadlines, and functioning calmly in high-pressure situations including breaking news.

Must be computer literate, have strong internet research skills, and the ability to learn internal digital video archives.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. The base pay range is $55,226.00 - $102,563.00 per year. Other rewards may include bonuses, incentives, and awards. Warner Bros.
