Our client , a premier litigation boutique law firm with offices in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, New York, NY and Tampa, FL is seeking a highly skilled and professional Senior Litigation Paralegal at their Washington, DC office. Under the supervision of the Paralegal Manager, Paralegals provide support to the firm's attorneys and their clients in various types of litigation matters.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Maintain pleadings, files, calendars, and other case material in electronic databases.
Gather and circulate case materials to the project team, as needed.
Arrange filings, mailings, and service of process with appropriate courts, government agencies and other parties.
Legal and factual cite checking, including creating Table of Authorities, Table of Contents, shepardizing and editing briefs to Blue Book standards and applicable court rules. Expert-level cite-checking proficiency and attention to detail is required.
Under attorney supervision, perform research (factual, legal, internet, and other) and analyze documents to identify issues and relevant information. Compile information and prepare documentation that details key findings.
Draft, review, and analyze routine legal documents as requested by attorneys.
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations, as needed (travel may be necessary). Coordinate assembly of exhibits and appendices for pleadings, witness materials, depositions, and trials. Summarize deposition and trial exhibits and transcripts.
Obtain services from outside contractors, including court reporters and filing services. Process billing and disbursement paperwork in connection with those services.
Act as liaison for the project team with support departments and other offices in the firm.
Experience with all stages of litigation, including e-Discovery, e-filing practices, and trial preparation activities.
Work in conjunction with the Litigation Support Department to create and maintain document review platforms (Concordance and Relativity experience preferred); understand legal technology concepts and terminology.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by firm attorneys or the Paralegal Manager.
Teleworking Policy :
The firm participates in a 3 / 2 hybrid work schedule. The candidate will be required to work in the office at least 3 days a week with additional days in the office as needed.
FLSA Status :
This is a Non-Exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines. Standard Full-Time Work Hours : Monday – Friday, 9 : 00am to 5 : 30pm, with periodic overtime hours as needed to meet job requirements. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications. A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is preferred. At least 5-8 years of related experience is required. In addition, a Paralegal Certificate is highly preferred.
Salary Description
