What You Get to Do: A
Lead Direct Support Professional
is responsible for the coordination of services to the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family
contact/involvement,
education, and household management. A Lead provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities.
The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect. Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance. Coordinate services for the individuals served, including finance, medical, recreation, program services, family
contact/involvement,
education, and household management Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve. Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more. Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation. Build relationships with persons served and teammates. Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events. Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home. Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest. Document progress, milestones, and action steps.
