Who We Serve: EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. Position Summary: Join our team as a Dispatcher in our Bridgeton, MO location, providing safe, efficient, and exemplary transportation services. This individual in this role will be organized and able to manage the daily transportation operations of our clients. The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple tasks under time-sensitive conditions. The responsibility of the Dispatcher includes scheduling, routing, communicating, managing emergency situations, and ensuring the safety of the clients. This position operates primarily in an office setting with regular interaction via radio and phone with drivers and other support personnel.
Responsibilities: Monitor radio communications and provide real-time support to drivers. Assists drivers with route-related problems. Alert supervisor of any problems related to the position and help determine adequate solutions. Plan trips in the most effective and efficient route to maximize operator productivity. Continually update the HR department and General Manager as to the number of assets needed. Receives requests for trips from the company’s customer service personnel or directly from clients and adds trip to the routing spreadsheet. Provides backup to and will act in the capacity of a Driver as needed during times of high trip volume or situations in which the company has a pressing need that cannot be filled by our team of available Drivers. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Two year’s experience in actively and effectively routing a group of operators. Technical proficiency with MS Office products such as Word, Excel, and Access, as well as desk and lap top computers, tablets, cellular and other devices. Must not have a driver’s license suspension or revocation for moving traffic violations within the previous three years. May not have more than three traffic citations within the previous 36 months. Must pass a 10-panel drug screen. Education: Highschool Diploma or equivalent. Qualifications: Must have or obtain a DOT Medical Certification within 60 days of employment. Prior experience in dispatching, transportation coordination, or a similar role is required. Must be able to detect errors in the routes and process the knowledge to correct it. Ability to understand and apply current routing guidelines, system updates and revisions, and policy changes. Must be able to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to determine work priorities. Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing. Proficiency in relevant computer applications
