About the Role : We are seeking a Staff Security Operations Engineer to join our Security team. You will manage Vercel's internal Corporate Security (CorpSec) posture, monitor security anomalies, develop detection mechanisms, and ensure the security of our internal systems. Collaboration with various teams to support audits, improve visibility, and handle security incidents is essential. This is a hybrid role based at our San Francisco office, requiring three days in the office per week. What You Will Do : Monitor and respond to security alerts across multiple channels, including managed SOC escalations. Maintain visibility and logging infrastructure, ensuring effective SIEM operations. Support security audits for frameworks like PCI, SOC2, ISO, and others, by gathering evidence and collaborating with Engineering, GRC, and Security teams. Enhance security operations by developing detections, security tools, and managing security partners. Conduct security investigations, manage incidents, and improve on-call processes. Act as a guardian to enable the business to navigate security risks. Manage email security, endpoint security (EDR, configuration), GitHub security, and internal security tools to strengthen overall security. About You : Extensive experience in security operations, SIEM management, and detection engineering. Strong knowledge of AWS infrastructure and cloud security best practices. Experience with GitHub administration and security controls. Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and investigations. Hands-on incident response experience, including detection, triage, and remediation. Strong endpoint management skills across Mac, Windows, and Linux. Proficiency in at least one scripting language (Python, Bash) and one compiled language (Rust, Go). Familiarity with serverless functions and API security is a plus. Bonus If You : Have experience working with managed SOC providers and automation platforms. Have worked in high-growth, cloud-native environments with scalability focus. The San Francisco base pay range for this role is $224,000-$336,000, depending on skills and experience. Total compensation includes benefits and equity.
