The Development Manager, Annual Fund and Events is responsible for managing fundraising efforts focused on gifts under $10,000 from individual and corporate donors, planning and executing donor appeals and campaigns, and producing both fundraising and donor cultivation events. The role includes managing the annual fund pipeline, implementing stewardship strategies, managing a personal portfolio of donors, and leading all aspects of fundraising event production, working closely with the Senior Director of Development and broader Development team to meet annual revenue goals. The Development Manager, Annual Fund and Events is responsible for managing fundraising efforts focused on gifts under $10,000 from individual and corporate donors, planning and executing donor appeals and campaigns, and producing both fundraising and donor cultivation events. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Individual and Corporate Giving

Manage a portfolio of individual and corporate donors and prospects under $10,000. Conduct regular outreach to donors and prospects to cultivate and solicit support, meeting monthly and annual KPIs. Implement standard and personalized stewardship touchpoints to retain and upgrade donors. Support direct mail and online campaigns in collaboration with the marketing team. Conduct prospect research and prepare donor briefs for meetings with agency leadership. Annual Fund Campaigns

Project manage 3+ fundraising campaigns annually, including year-end, back-to-school, and National Mentoring Month. Track campaign performance and make data-informed adjustments to maximize revenue. Support segmentation, copy development, and production coordination for appeals.

Fundraising Event Management

Lead planning and execution of donor cultivation and fundraising events, including the annual gala, donor appreciation gatherings, and house parties. Develop event budgets, timelines, run-of-show documents, and all collateral. Coordinate volunteers, vendors, logistics, and post-event stewardship. Support sponsorship outreach and recognition in partnership with agency leadership and board members.

Prospecting & New Revenue Development

Partner with the Senior Director of Development and agency leadership to identify and cultivate new revenue opportunities, including event sponsorships, corporate partnerships, and mid-level individual donors. Use iWave and Salesforce to research, screen, and prioritize donor prospects with capacity for increased giving; maintain updated prospect profiles in the CRM. Implement strategies to engage current and former mentors (“Bigs”), alumni, and volunteer networks in fundraising campaigns, peer-to-peer appeals, and donor acquisition. Collaborate with board members and staff to identify prospects within their networks and prepare briefing materials to support outreach. Track and report on prospecting activities, donor pipeline development, and conversion metrics; use insights to inform future outreach and engagement efforts. Support stewardship strategies that encourage increased giving from new and lapsed donors through targeted follow-up and personalized outreach. Systems and Operations

Use Salesforce to strategically track donor outreach and fundraising performance. Support gift entry and acknowledgement process in collaboration with Development Associate. Use Trello and other project management tools for collaboration on events and projects. Maintain accurate donor records and event data. Additional Responsibilities Support internal stakeholder engagement including the Associate Board and staff champions. Participate in agency events and mission activities as an ambassador of BBBSBA. Other duties as assigned in support of team and agency fundraising goals. Project Management & Event Planning: Manages complex events and donor campaigns from ideation to completion. Problem Solving & Decision Making: Uses data and insight to make sound decisions and solve problems proactively. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (or SKILLS & EXPERIENCE) 4+ years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, events, or marketing. Demonstrated success managing donor relationships, communications and events. Demonstrated success cultivating and closing five-figure gifts from individual donors. Strong project management skills and attention to detail. Proficiency with Salesforce or other CRM platforms. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfort with working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with corporate giving or sponsorships. Knowledge of donor cultivation strategies and moves management. Familiarity with the Bay Area philanthropic landscape.
