General Description

CACI is currently looking for a motivated, career and customer-oriented Release Manager with Agile methodology experience to join our Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Land Border Integration (LBI) Integrated Traveler Initiative ITI2.1 team in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals supporting the best practices in Agile Software Development and hardware integration for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

As a member of the ITI2.1 Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. CBP Officers and Border Patrol agents are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, border security, and agricultural protection into one coordinated and supportive activity.

What you'll get to do:

Serve as the Release Manager responsible for all activities associated with delivery of customer-defined systems and software projects responsibilities include:

Plan the release of project deliverables and release life cycle.

Communicate the project-related tasks such as plans, timelines, requirements, etc. between different teams

Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates

Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.

Track the progress and find issues, if any; work to improve the process of release

Make sure that the release is planned, according to the requirements and budget

Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release

Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule

Plan and give weekly updates on the release activities

Make sure the allocation of Release Engineers to every release.

Communicate with release managers from different IT departments

Lead the Go-Live activities to deploy the software successfully

Team up with relevant development teams responsible for building the automation tools used to develop and deploy the software

Schedule the CAB meetings to discuss the release schedules with the team and find roadblocks, if any

Maintain documentation related to procedures on build and release, various notifications lists, and dependencies

Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management

You have:

Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria includes, but not limited to:

3-year check for felony convictions

1-year check for illegal drug use

1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud

College degree (B.S.; M.S., PhD.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline Professional Experience: 7+ years related technical experience

8+ years of related professional technical experience

Strong software development background, with a minimum of three (3) years' experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach

Must be available to work a hybrid schedule with an on-site requirement in Sterling, VA

You are good at:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience participating in a high performing, highly engaged and motivated CM team

Leadership skills

Project Management skills with knowledge of presentation

Problem-solving and analytics skills

Solid experience in incremental software development projects using an Agile Scrum approach

Understanding of all elements of the software development life cycle

Highly responsible, team-oriented individual with very strong communication and time management skills and work ethic; self-starter

Bonus would be having:

Experience in the use of Application Release Automation tools such as ElectricFlow, Puppet Enterprise, Buildmaster, and Visual Studio Release Management

Experience in working with DevOps and Agile methodologies, including Scrum, Waterfall, or Kanban

Good understanding of application infrastructure, system architecture, and operating system

Pay Range

: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$103,800 - $218,100
