NOTE : This position is open to full-time employment or C2C. The candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident, is preferred). This is a hybrid opportunity (3 days on-site/2 days remote). Candidate must be local to the Washington DC/Baltimore MD corridor.
Daily Responsibilities
Architect, implement, and support Microsoft Endpoint Management solutions (Intune, SCCM/MECM) for streamlined device management, app deployment, and compliance.
Integrate identity and access management systems (Azure Entra ID) and support multi-factor authentication for secure remote access to internal systems and applications.
Design and implement hybrid and cloud-native architectures using Microsoft Azure and Office 365.
Lead migration of on-premises infrastructure, including storage and backups, to cloud-based environments to reduce operational overhead and improve resiliency.
Implement secure access architecture using Azure Front Door, API Management, Application Proxy, and MFA (e.g., RSA SecureID).
Design and execute Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for disaster recovery in both cloud and on-premises environments.
Provide Citrix NetScaler and XenApp infrastructure setup and support for application delivery.
Perform cost optimization analysis of cloud infrastructure services and recommend right-sizing strategies to improve financial efficiency.
Coordinate and execute cloud security posture assessments and enforce remediation of identified vulnerabilities or misconfigurations.
Ensure compliance with security and patch management policies across workloads.
Deliver technical documentation, SOPs, and knowledge transfer materials to internal IT teams and business stakeholders.
Collaborate with business units, application owners, and external vendors to ensure alignment of infrastructure solutions with organizational goals.
Requirements

Must be local to the Washington DC/Baltimore MD corridor to be on-site 3 days/week (hybrid schedule).
10+ years of experience architecting and implementing enterprise IT infrastructure, with deep expertise in Microsoft ecosystems including Windows Server, Azure Cloud, Office 365, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms.
8+ years of professional experience driving technology modernization and cloud transformation initiatives for public sector, utilities, and enterprise organizations, with a focus on secure, compliant, and scalable infrastructure solutions.
Must have a proven track record in leading complex infrastructure projects involving hybrid Azure environments, enterprise backup consolidation, endpoint management deployments, and secure application access. Demonstrated success in implementing disaster recovery solutions, cost optimization strategies, and system integrations with Power Platform tools.
Extensive cloud architecture experience designing and implementing hybrid and cloud-native infrastructure using Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Storage, API Management, Front Door, Application Proxy, and Site Recovery.
Strong understanding of Microsoft Entra ID and secure authentication mechanisms, including multi-factor authentication (MFA) and OAuth 2.0, for enterprise and remote access scenarios.
Deep expertise in deploying and managing Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Intune) and MECM/SCCM for centralized device provisioning, security policy enforcement, and application deployment across multiple platforms.
Must have led enterprise-wide modernization of backup strategies using DELL/APEX, Commvault, and Netbackup, consolidating multiple legacy systems into a single cloud-integrated solution with improved performance and lower cost.
Proven experience implementing disaster recovery strategies using Azure Site Recovery (ASR) for both cloud-native and on-premises VMware environments, ensuring business continuity and compliance.
Skilled in Microsoft technologies including Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, SQL Server, DNS, DHCP, and IIS, supporting a range of enterprise services and security operations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a history of successful collaboration across IT, operations, and business teams to plan, deploy, and support mission-critical infrastructure.
Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing efficient solutions in complex cloud and on-premises environments.
BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Information Sciences, Engineering or related IT discipline with 10+ years of professional experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The expected annual salary range for this position is $119,463 – $135,100 or $85/hour C2C.
