Job Description Your Career You will be part of the team developing the Intrusion Prevention System powering the Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall. The content team decodes network protocols, identifies applications, and detects threats on enterprise networks, supporting various network security services. Your Impact Research protocol RFCs and related application implementations. Research common file types for identification, blocking, DLP, etc. Develop defense mechanisms against protocol/firewall evasions. Develop protocol and file decoders and integrate detection solutions into the IPS engine. Build services to support network security features. Create internal tools to monitor and support cybersecurity products. Collaborate across teams to discover and integrate advanced cybersecurity features into products. Qualifications Your Experience Strong programming skills; experience with C/C++ or Go preferred. Passion for cybersecurity, technology, and digital investigations. Understanding of common networking protocols (HTTP, SSL, SMTP, FTP, WebSocket, gRPC). Experience analyzing network traffic with tools like Wireshark, Fiddler, tcpdump is a plus. Team player with good communication skills for cross-functional collaboration. Familiarity with Linux/Unix development environment is a plus. Knowledge of next-generation firewall and cybersecurity services is a plus. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience/military background required. Additional Information The Team Our Security Services Team develops threat prevention and antivirus solutions, shipping high-quality content to prevent cyberattacks. Focus areas include malware analysis, IoT security, web security, network security, and privacy protection. Compensation Disclosure Compensation depends on qualifications, experience, and location, with a typical salary range of $129,000 - $150,000/year for this role, potentially including stock and bonuses.
