VP, PayPal And Venmo Credit Models Synchrony's partnership with PayPal and Venmo offers opportunities in model risk management to develop credit, fraud, and marketing models for these portfolios. The role involves working closely with the PayPal/Venmo team to enhance underwriting, account management, fraud detection, and marketing strategies using advanced data and analytics. We seek an innovative VP with business acumen, ownership mindset, and experience in big data environments, programming (Hadoop, Spark, Python, SAS, etc.), with excellent communication and project management skills. Responsibilities include hands-on model development for credit, fraud, and marketing processes. Our Way of Working Flexible work options include remote work, working near one of our hubs, or in-office presence for meetings and events. Essential Responsibilities Manage credit risk and fraud frameworks and models with PayPal/Venmo teams. Handle data collection, cleansing, methodology evaluation, and model validation. Build models using machine learning, logistic regression, decision trees. Analyze datasets to identify opportunities. Deliver accurate analytical results to senior management. Ensure compliance with Fair Lending and legal standards. Coordinate across functions, with PayPal/Venmo, and regulators. Manage model inventory, documentation, testing, monitoring, validation, and updates. Lead model development procedures and communicate with senior leadership. Perform other duties and special projects as needed. Qualifications / Requirements Master's in a quantitative field with 3+ years of relevant experience or 8+ years in the industry. 4+ years in credit/fraud scorecard modeling with machine learning techniques. Experience with large datasets and programming skills (SAS, SQL, R, Python). Desired Characteristics Cross-functional collaboration skills. Strong communication and analytical skills. Knowledge of modeling methodologies and risk management. Technical proficiency with SAS, SQL, R, Python, Hadoop, Spark. Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills. Grade / Level : 12 The salary range is $135,000 - $230,000 annually, with potential bonuses. Compensation depends on experience, skills, and market adjustments. Eligibility Requirements Must be 18 or older, with a high school diploma or equivalent. Willingness to undergo background checks, drug testing, and fingerprinting.
