Cedarhurst, a regional healthcare provider and true friend of older adults, seeks a service-minded, career-oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Traveling Executive Director. This position requires frequent overnight travel. As the Traveling Executive Director for Cedarhurst Senior Living, you will have the opportunity to connect with, and positively impact the lives of, our residents daily! You will be responsible for ensuring the provision of quality nursing care in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations within Cedarhurst communities, while filling the role of a vacant Executive Director position. You will support teams within Cedarhurst communities in optimizing each resident’s well-being and overall experience. You will be responsible for strategic planning, profitability, and overseeing all operations and programs within the community you serve. Additionally, you will provide training and support to existing Executive Directors to ensure they have the resources and tools to succeed. As an Operations Specialist, you will seek to increase awareness of Cedarhurst Senior Living and our mission to create communities where each person feels loved, valued, supported, and able to live life to the fullest. As a Traveling Executive Director, your key responsibilities include: Providing training to existing EDs to improve performance. Assisting with Cedarhurst acquisitions and onboarding new Executive Directors. Mentoring existing EDs and supporting those facing challenges in their roles. Communicating effectively through oral and written presentations, including group sessions. Leading, staffing, developing, and retaining strong teams. Demonstrating a warm, outgoing, and compassionate personality, with a positive outlook. Managing employee and resident issues with strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Handling confidential information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines. Organizing and multitasking with attention to detail. Being self-motivated and accountable for results. Applying analytical, project management, and organizational skills. Maintaining curiosity, learning new skills, and proposing solutions to problems. Remaining calm under stress, being flexible, and managing interruptions effectively. Engaging positively with older adults and providing excellent customer service. While serving as an ED: Meeting or exceeding budget and performance goals. Managing daily operations, including profit & loss, marketing, compliance, and staffing. Driving sales and occupancy through active market positioning and engagement. Hiring, onboarding, supervising, and evaluating staff. Resolving conflicts among customers, families, and staff. Managing 3-5 supervisory staff overseeing 30-50 employees across various departments. The physical demands include occasional standing, communication, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds independently, and up to 200 pounds with assistance. To qualify as a Traveling Executive Director, you should have: A preferred Bachelor’s Degree. State-required license/certification for Assisted Living/Memory Care centers. Good standing licensure. Five or more years of senior care leadership experience. At least one year of management or supervisory experience. Strong decision-making, leadership, and compliance skills. Servant leadership qualities, including empathy and effective listening. Proactive problem-solving abilities.
