The College for Creative Studies (www.ccsdetroit.edu), a nonprofit private college in Detroit, Michigan, seeks a creative, visionary, and entrepreneurial leader for the position of Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs/CAO (Provost/VPAA/CAO).

Founded in 1906 by local civic leaders as the Detroit Society of Arts and Crafts, the College educates visual artists and designers in various fields, preparing them to be leaders in creative professions that influence society and promote economic growth. Authorized by the Michigan Education Department to grant Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees, the College encourages students to pursue excellence, act ethically, engage as citizens of diverse communities, and commit to lifelong learning. Reporting to the President from the A. Alfred Taubman Center, the Provost/VPAA/CAO will have a unique opportunity to advance a distinctive college with forward-looking programs in visual arts, media, and design. As the chief academic officer, the Provost/VPAA/CAO oversees all academic operations, including faculty and curriculum management, and drives innovation. In collaboration with the President, leadership team, and faculty, the Provost/VPAA/CAO will implement and refine the College’s strategic plan, focusing on program development, faculty professional growth, interdisciplinary learning, integration of new technologies such as AI, and building partnerships with external organizations. The Provost/VPAA/CAO will also serve as a spokesperson to enhance the College’s reputation locally, nationally, and internationally, advocating for the importance of art and design in society. Visit
