Position Summary

The Senior Underwriter will support business growth by underwriting Inland Marine products under general guidance, issuing quotes and policies while ensuring compliance and standards. The role involves underwriting large accounts, building client and broker relationships, and contributing to strategic initiatives. Key Responsibilities

Evaluate, prioritize, and select submissions for underwriting Conduct strategic account reviews and document files accordingly Adhere to underwriting guidelines and discipline Support management with strategic initiatives and provide technical underwriting support Develop existing and establish new broker relationships with regional managers and product leaders Collaborate with distribution and line of business teams to identify business opportunities Work on complex risk deal structures, contract terms, and conditions with management and partners Represent AIG at client and broker functions Mentor and develop less experienced staff Participate in special underwriting projects as needed Provide excellent customer service to brokers and clients Qualifications

Knowledge of Inland Marine Insurance, including loss trends, loss triangles, and ratemaking, focusing on Transportation and Logistics risks Detail-oriented with analytical, critical thinking, and decision-making skills Adaptable, comfortable with ambiguity, and able to prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment Strong communication and collaboration skills to build trust with colleagues and clients Financial acumen, industry learning appetite, negotiation skills, and focus on profitable business At least 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in commercial insurance, agency, or brokerage; Inland Marine experience is a plus Bachelor’s degree preferred Compensation and Benefits

Base salary ranges vary by location: New York City ($81,000 - $109,000), Los Angeles ($98,000 - $111,000), Chicago ($84,000 - $111,500). Additional competitive benefits are offered, details available upon request. Additional Information
