Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.
Job Description
Position Overview: Responsible for all rights management, programming, strategic scheduling, formatting, reporting, and contingency planning for all sports across linear and digital platforms. Responsibilities: Schedule, plan, and report, including communicating schedule information to internal and external partners. Negotiate and manage rights to sports events and programming. Foster strategic partnerships across the Versant sports portfolio, including leagues, teams, and organizations. Manage live Sports and Golf Channel contingencies, leveraging relationships across VERSANT and with league partners. Collaborate with sales and production to create and execute program formats. Implement changes to programming content, schedule, and look based on research data. Oversee sports VOD programming and the GolfPass Virtual Channel. Manage international sports programming and partnerships to generate distribution deals. Lead and manage a programming team. Qualifications
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 15 years of experience in sports programming within the broadcast industry. Proven ability to work with and influence senior stakeholders. Experience leading creative, forward-thinking teams. Desired Characteristics: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Strong problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of basketball, golf, and motorsports.
