Job Description - Gastroenterology Locum
Location : Lakewood, CO
Shift Type : 24-Hour On-Call (Mon-Sun, 7 AM - 7 AM)
Job Overview:
- Facility : Level 1 Trauma Center
- Reason for Coverage : Backfill for gaps in call coverage, starting in February 2025 and continuing through June 2025. Ongoing coverage required starting in July 2025.
- Position Type : Locum; 5-7 days per month starting in February, ongoing dates into 2025.
- Required Procedures : ERCP, EUS, Endoscopy, GI Bleed evaluation, and general GI problem evaluation.
- EMR System : EPIC (Training Required).
Shift Details:
- Hours : 24-hour call shifts from 7 AM to 7 AM (Mon-Sun).
- Callback : Average 8-11 hours of callback expected, paid at $350/hour
Required Qualifications:
- Board Certification : Gastroenterology
- License : Active Colorado license
- DEA : Active DEA
- Fellowship : Gastroenterology fellowship required.
- Background : Clean malpractice and background
Dates & Coverage:
- Scheduled Shifts :
- Feb 20 (7 AM) - Mar 1 (7 AM)
- May 19 (7 AM) - May 26 (7 AM)
- Ongoing coverage dates beginning July 2025 (dates to be released in mid-Jan 2025).
Additional Notes:
- Patient Population : Adult, geriatric, and adolescent (ages 15+). Pediatric patients are not admitted.
- Average Daily Caseload : 8-10 new patients & follow-ups; 5-8 scopes per day.
- Trauma Services : 24/7 intensivists, hospitalists, and trauma services available on-site.
Rates:
- On Call (Daily) : $3500 for 24 hours (includes 8 gratis hours).
- Callback : $350/hour
