The Opportunity
WHB's San Diego, CA office is actively seeking Civil Engineers with 4 to 10 years of experience in civil engineering with water resources and site development understanding. The successful candidate will work with our team to support and help manage planning and design of pump stations, pressure regulating stations, pipelines, reservoirs, lift stations, chemical feed systems, other water/wastewater facilities, and overall civil site development. The ideal candidate will have experience with preparing plans, specifications, calculations, presentations, cost estimates, and design/inspection reports.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on large civil projects, which includes the design and preparation of construction drawings and contract documents for water/wastewater infrastructure. They will have strong communication skills and will be committed to assist with the leading of projects and teams. This individual must be self-directed, dedicated, and focused on success.
Responsibilities:
Involved with a variety of water-related projects such as pipelines, pump stations, reservoirs, wells, lift stations, and treatment facility designs
Involved with civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, storm water, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
Prepare and review technical memoranda, studies, reports, drawings, specifications, calculations, presentations, and miscellaneous contract documents in accordance with project requirements and engineering/client standards
Conduct technical evaluations to support planning and design related to water and wastewater systems
Assistance with preparation of proposals and fee estimates
Development of work plans and schedules
Assisting in the management of projects
and coordinating civil design staff along with other disciplines
to ensure they are on schedule, within budget, and meet the requirements of our clients
Plan, schedule work, and complete work assignments within established budget and timelines
Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection.
Attend client meetings as necessary
Comm
unicate effectively and coordinate with project team members including other disciplines (drafters, GIS, designers, and other engineers)
Prov
ide technical direction or supervision to engineering professionals, engineering, or computer-aided design (CAD) technicians, or other professional and technical personnel
Men
tor and assist junior engineers and designers in developing final design packages
Required Qualifications:
Professional Civil Engineering (PE) license in California is required
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural Engineering, master's degree is preferred but not required
Minimum of four years of practical work experience
Motivated self-starter, versatile, and interested in working on a variety of projects supporting the Water/Wastewater/Civil Team
Excellent technical writing and communication skills
Solid experience with the MS Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with civil engineering as the engineer of record or principal in charge on projects submitted to public agencies
Excellent customer service skills including an ability to interact professionally and knowledgeably with clients

roficiency with AutoCAD C3D

$160,000
