Highway Project Engineer
to support projects in the
Mid-Atlantic Region . This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Baltimore office. Working on the Transportation team at GFT offers opportunities to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and community connectivity, focusing on resilient, sustainable design and construction. Responsibilities What you'll be challenged to do: Specialize in Highway, Roadway, and ADA Design. Prepare design plans, cost estimates, and specifications for Highway, Roadway, and ADA projects. Create displays and graphics for meetings, including 3D project design and model development. Assist in designing and developing construction documents, coordinating with other disciplines. Write project specifications and prepare construction cost estimates. Coordinate technical aspects with clients and monitor work of sub-consultants. Review plans, specifications, and estimates at milestones for accuracy and completeness.
Professional Development Duties: Enhance expertise through continued learning. Participate in professional/technical organizations.
Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school. 5-8 years of experience in Highway, Roadway, and ADA design, and construction document preparation. Maryland PE License. Experience with CADD software (AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Microstation), InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, AutoTurn, and Microsoft Office. Excellent communication and time management skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively. Design experience with Maryland and/or Delaware state and local agencies. Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation. Commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
Compensation & Benefits Salary range: $70,000-$123,000, depending on experience and location. Hybrid work environment.
