This is a direct hire opportunity. Candidates must be able to design a test fixture, make changes to a SolidWorks CAD file, have 7 years of experience in this or a similar role, experience designing safety fixtures, circuits, and plans for mid to high volume production, and experience with typical commercial and industrial electrical power (480Vac, 3-phase). Description Our client is looking to add a Senior Systems Test Engineer to our engineering team. You will work with experienced engineers to lead the development of test fixture design on the production line, including main assembly, sub-assembly, and board-level test system design. Responsibilities include wiring schematics, documentation, and leading development efforts for current and new test systems. Opportunities include contributing to new product design, customer requests, lab testing, PCB development, and troubleshooting. Requirements Lead hardware design development for test fixtures used in production and engineering testing, including wiring schematics, test equipment selection, software requirements, and reporting Design for mid/high volume manufacturing testing - bed of nails, inverter test fixtures at sub-assembly and main assembly levels Support verification testing for new R&D products, including test automation/fixturing Support commissioning of new test stands, validate hardware/software functionality, safety, documentation, and release to production Select appropriate wire sizes and components based on ampacity and voltage requirements Develop, coordinate, and participate in board and equipment testing, wiring checkout, FAT, and end-of-line testing Troubleshoot electrical system issues as needed Participate in design development and validation activities Occasional travel may be required (
Qualifications B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline, M.Sc preferred 7+ years’ experience related to job responsibilities Experience designing safety fixtures, circuits, and plans for mid to high volume production lines Strong understanding of NI test stand/LabVIEW architecture & best practices Solid understanding of electrical power fundamentals Strong understanding of electrical circuits Experience with typical commercial and industrial electrical power (480Vac, 3-phase) Interest in power electronics Strong problem-solving skills Effective teamwork and clear communication of technical progress and challenges Ability to understand, maintain, and improve electrical drawing standards Familiarity with lab equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, soldering stations, signal generators, DAQ Desired Skills PCB layout and design via Altium Designing analog/digital circuitry for high-accuracy measurement systems Salary range: $150,000+ depending on experience Seniority level
