$125,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Chargezoom is a rapidly growing startup based in Salt Lake City, UT that is transforming the B2B digital payments industry. We are seeking an experienced software engineer to join our team at an exciting inflection point. Having successfully validated our core product, we're now entering a high-growth phase. Our focus is on scaling our operations, optimizing our product offerings, and expanding our market reach. What you will do:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient software, primarily using PHP and Javascript (React) Thoughtfully implement the next phase of our system, ensuring best practices in coding standards, security, and scalability Conduct code reviews and contribute to the growth of the engineering team's skills and knowledge Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code to ensure performance and stability of applications Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and evaluate their applicability to our tech stack and business needs Participate in the entire application lifecycle, from concept to deployment and ongoing support Contribute to the development and refinement of our development processes, including continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment strategies Act as a technical lead on projects, providing guidance and direction to ensure successful project completion
What you bring to the table:
6+ years of software engineering experience Proven track record of designing, developing, and maintaining large-scale, high-performance web applications and RESTful APIs Strong experience with database design, optimization, and performance tuning in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or other relational databases Excellent software engineering skills in at least one programming language like Python, PHP, Ruby, Go, C# etc Deep understanding of object-oriented programming, design patterns, and best practices in software development Proficiency in front-end fundamentals. Experience with modern front-end frameworks like React, Vue, Angular, etc is a plus A self-starter attitude with a high degree of initiative and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and technologies Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and lead technical discussions
Nice to haves:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Experience building with Laravel and/or similar frameworks Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and Google Cloud Platform Understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) General knowledge of QuickBooks or other popular accounting software services
