Devops Engineer

Duration: 12+ Months Start Date: ASAP. Job Description: Responsible for operations support of various notification, reporting, and ticketing systems. You will be working with Development to gain knowledge of the applications and provide experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps processes for Jenkins, Ansible, and CloudFormation to build automated pipelines for deployment; Grafana experience is a plus. You will also be responsible for 24/7 production support of mission-critical applications. The role requires expertise with both Linux and Windows operating environments. You will deploy code/packages in production and non-production environments, update C programs as required, prepare task plans, and follow the change management process. Work with application Development, Sys Admins, DBAs, and peer IT groups. As part of the 24/7 job requirement, you may need to work after normal business hours and some weekends to support releases and outages. You need to be able to join crisis/outage bridges when paged and provide resolution to issues while mitigating problems proactively. Must be able to function with limited direction and guidance and diagnose extremely technical and challenging problems within the systems. You must accurately assess problems and, if necessary, communicate the problem information to peers, support groups, and HW/OS vendors. You should be able to work in a team environment, demonstrate leadership skills, possess excellent communication skills, and follow established business processes and procedures. Responsibilities: Creating the Jenkins pipeline for automating the build of the environment Create Ansible playbooks, CloudFormation templates Logging and monitoring setup, maintaining health checks Day-to-day application support, monitoring, and system administration of applications running on Linux, Windows, and on Oracle/memsql Database 24/7 support for mission-critical applications, requiring occasionally working after normal business hours and weekends to support releases, application issues, and outages DevOps engagement to drive CI/CD in the build and deployment of applications using tools like Jenkins and Ansible Automating manual processes Problem (break/fix) analysis & remediation Supporting ESRI ArcGIS server installation and Windows server administration and support Top 3 requirements: Experience in operations Experience in Linux, writing and executing Unix Shell script, Python, Perl Experience in databases like Oracle, memsql query analysis and scripting Required Skills: Programming in C, Javascript, Python, shell, JSON Web technologies – Apache, Tomcat, Weblogic Database technologies – Oracle, memsql SQL Unix/Linux, Shell scripting, Powershell, Perl DevOps and CI/CD process implementation using JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible Desired Skills: AWS knowledge a plus Project management skills Knowledge of Grafana/Prometheus/New Relic Please fill out the following questionnaire so that I can use the information while presenting your profile to the client.
