Dignity Health, Mercy Hospital of Folsom is the community hospital serving the Sierra foothills communities of Folsom El Dorado Hills Granite Bay Cameron Park Shingle Springs and Rescue. With 106 licensed acute-care beds our accredited non-profit hospital has been providing exceptional care for more than 35 years. Mercy Hospital of Folsom provides surgical services including minimally-invasive general urological and gynecological surgeries. We also provide comprehensive and award-winning orthopedic services which include surgery inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation and specialty orthopedic care. Responsibilities
The Instrument Technician is accountable and responsible for decontamination, instrument recognition, set assembly, dispensing carts, sterilization and documentation in all medical center and clinics as required or assigned.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Sterile Processing in an Operating Room and/or Endoscopy environment
Six (6) months preferred
Completion of Certified Sterile Processing program
CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing Distribution Technician) from CBSPD - the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) from IAHCSMM - International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management
BLS from American Heart Association
Proficient computer skills such as but not limited to basic Microsoft and keyboarding
Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written
Demonstrated knowledge of surgical instruments, assembly, packaging, sterilization, cleaning and decontamination processes and proper safety practices including infection control, body mechanics and hazardous materials
Basic knowledge of medical supplies and record keeping
