Construction Superintendent – Water/Wastewater Infrastructure Focus

Construction Superintendent
with a strong background in
wastewater and water infrastructure construction
to lead field operations on heavy civil projects. The ideal candidate will bring technical expertise, field leadership, and a deep understanding of the specific demands associated with water treatment plants, pump stations, pipelines, and other related infrastructure. Key Responsibilities: Maintain and enforce
compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards
across all project activities, with a focus on the specialized requirements of
water and wastewater construction . Lead and manage day-to-day field operations on
municipal and private water/wastewater projects . Forecast, plan, and direct the work of assigned crews, ensuring that
project phases involving waterlines, sewer systems, and treatment structures
are executed efficiently and correctly. Ensure Foremen and craftsmen are trained and knowledgeable on
procedures unique to water infrastructure work , such as pipe installations, testing, bypass pumping, and utility tie-ins. Maintain and enforce quality requirements and ensure
compliance with regulatory standards
specific to water/wastewater construction. Communicate effectively with management, clients, engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and visitors, particularly in coordinating utility-related tasks and inspections. Work closely with the Project Manager to evaluate constructability, sequencing, and risk management for water/wastewater scopes. Monitor activities, schedules, and manpower to meet milestones while optimizing productivity. Oversee procurement and coordination of skilled craft labor, materials, and equipment suited to
underground utilities, treatment processes, and mechanical systems . Actively support and promote a strong safety culture across all work activities. Qualifications: Proven experience supervising
water and/or wastewater infrastructure construction , including
pipelines, lift stations, pump stations, treatment facilities, and plant upgrades . Background in heavy civil construction, with a specialty in
underground utilities, process piping, and mechanical installations . Proficiency in reviewing and compiling “take-off” quantities, cost history, and field calculations for accuracy. Ability to manage construction crews, schedule and allocate resources, and monitor project progress in utility-heavy environments. Strong working knowledge of
EPA, OSHA, and local/state environmental standards
applicable to water and wastewater construction. Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise field personnel and subcontractors, monitor progress, and manage labor allocation. Develop and maintain cost estimates aligned with the project budget. Coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and inspectors to align construction activities with client expectations and regulatory requirements. Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials and equipment, particularly those related to
water control systems and piping . Maintain thorough daily logs and documentation of field activities and safety compliance. Adapt operations based on evolving field conditions and regulatory requirements. Implement efficient and cost-effective field management practices. Ensure the
proper use, maintenance, and safety protocols
