What You’ll Do: Apply instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM) to create effective, measurable training. Collaborate with SMEs and business units to tailor content to audience needs. Design and maintain visually engaging content aligned with brand standards. Support L&D initiatives through project planning, facilitation, and delivery. Leverage tools like Articulate 360, Adobe Suite, UKG LMS & more.

Overview As the instructional designer (ID) at Polk Mechanical, this role is responsible for creating training that is engaging, practical, and aligned with both business goals and employee growth. The ID designs learning experiences that are clear, interactive, and easy to apply on the job. Success comes from partnering with multiple departments, teams, and individuals to develop tailored solutions that meet their unique needs. Collaboration ensures training is relevant and impactful, while flexibility allows the ID to adapt to one-off projects, exposing teams to new possibilities and reinforcing the value of L&D. Applies instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) to develop effective learning solutions. Design and develop multiple modalities such as eLearning, ILT, VILT, video-based learning, microlearning, and job aids. Ability to turn concepts into complete, creative, and effective learning solutions. Experience with Learning Management Systems (UKG preferred) Closely collaborate with the L&D Project Manager to design and deliver training initiatives. Facilitate interactive, relevant, and results orientated workshops and learning sessions. Applies strong visual design principles including color theory, typography, and layout. Maintains brand consistency across all content. Conducts needs and audience analysis to align training with business goals and learner requirements. Creates design documents, outlines, and storyboards to plan learning experiences before development. Incorporates stakeholder feedback to refine and improve training content. Ensures accuracy, consistency, and clarity in all training materials. Communicates complex information clearly and follows up effectively. Adapts to changing needs and develops creative solutions. Builds rapport with SMEs and learners to foster collaboration. Leverages current learning technologies strategically. Manages timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations efficiently. Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities. Plans, records, and edits video content for training use. Software & Tools eLearning & Training Development:
