The cable assembler builds cables with MIL connectors, wire harnesses, and small mechanical parts. Must be familiar with military and industry standards. Key Tasks: Assemble and test cables and sub-assemblies. Understand and follow detailed drawings and instructions. Use hand tools, power tools, soldering equipment, and fixtures. Assemble fiber optic cables. Connect wires to circuit boards and components. Mount parts in jigs or fixtures. Crimp, screw, weld, solder, or secure parts to assemble devices. Use test equipment like multimeters. Solder and de-solder surface-mount and through-hole components. Inspect parts for defects and rework if needed. Follow safety procedures when handling chemicals and tools. Record production and inspection details. Provide basic training to other assemblers. Route and attach wires and cables. Install components such as switches and connectors. Test finished units for functionality and repair if necessary. Important Qualities: Detail-oriented with experience in cable manufacturing. Able to follow detailed instructions and drawings. Understands electrical and mechanical assembly. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE High School Diploma or equivalent. 2+ years of experience in cable and harness assembly. Proficient with Microsoft Office. NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Experience with fiber optic cables is a plus.
