Leidos is on the lookout for a talented
Lead Systems Administrator
to make an impact on the DTRA I3TS program. In this role, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for IT repair, maintenance, operations, and engineering services, ensuring our organization's IT infrastructure operates securely, reliably, and efficiently. This role is based on-site at Ft. Belvoir, VA and involves being the Site Lead, which includes managing local staffing needs and providing vital updates to leadership while liaising with multiple teams. Key Responsibilities: Oversee systems administration of both desktop and server systems within local and wide area networks. Manage desktop system functions including account monitoring, security, OS installation, and administration. Install and maintain Windows servers, workstations, laptops, and cabling across multiple networks and locations. Administer Active Directory, Domain Controller, Terminal Server, and Exchange services. Apply security patches, IAVAs, STIGS, and updates for all assigned systems. Support the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems. Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, and configuration issues using various tools. Collect and analyze server log files to identify and resolve system issues. Manage daily operations of systems administration, ticket triage, and workload for personnel. Offer Tier 2 and Tier 3 problem identification and resolution. Communicate status updates to agency management and internal customers clearly. Engage in the dispatch system to resolve hardware issues. Isolate and repair hardware and software issues across applications, operating systems, and communications infrastructure. Configure network components and implement enhancements to improve performance. Propose new technologies and manage special projects from planning to execution. Develop and implement disaster recovery and COOP plans and procedures. Document system configurations and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Act as the first-level supervisor for site employees, guiding the systems administration team to achieve daily objectives. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a technology-related field and 8+ years of experience in Systems, Network, or Database Administration (relevant experience may substitute for a degree). 5+ years of experience managing a team of at least ten IT professionals. Extensive enterprise-level IT experience managing servers, storage devices, and applications. Experience with virtualization solutions like VMware and OpenShift. Proficient in deploying and hardening Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and various Linux OS variants. Hands-on experience with Active Directory, SCOM, SCCM, IIS, SQL, DSUW, Remedy ITSM, M3, and more. Familiarity with Azure and AWS cloud environments. Understanding of IT service desk requirements and experience with ServiceNow ITSM. Proven ability to tackle complex assignments independently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Current DoD 8570.01 certification at IAT Level II, such as Security+ CE. Active TS/SCI security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: ITILv4 certification. Experience with Ansible and playbook creation. Proficient in Linux Server administration. Why Leidos? Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00. This pay range is a guideline and may vary based on qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
