Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Opening in California Location: Madera, CAPosition Summary: A dynamic community health center is seeking a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP) to provide comprehensive, compassionate care to pediatric patients. The PNP will perform advanced health assessments, manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions, and deliver preventative care in a collaborative team-based clinical environment. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families in an underserved area.Key Responsibilities: Clinical CareProvide health maintenance care including well-child exams and immunizationsConduct routine developmental screenings and treat common childhood illnessesComplete thorough documentation using SOAP format and Electronic Health Records (EHR)Order diagnostic tests and interpret results; manage acute and chronic conditionsCoordinate follow-up care and ensure continuity of care for chronic conditionsParticipate in the on-call rotation (approximately every 3 5 months for weekend or evening phone triage)Refer patients to other healthcare providers or specialists per approved protocolsMedical RecordsTimely and accurate charting for each patient encounterComply with clinical documentation and recordkeeping standardsReview and sign off on medical records, lab reports, and referral documentsConsultation & ReferralCollaborate with the Medical Director and physicians for complex casesCoordinate referrals for specialty care, health education, or additional clinical supportTeam Collaboration & Continuous ImprovementParticipate in peer reviews, quality improvement (CQI) initiatives, and staff meetingsAttend monthly general and clinician staff meetingsEngage in daily team huddles to ensure high-quality, individualized patient careProvide insight on clinical resource needs and improvementsMinimum Qualifications: Education:Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner ProgramLicensure & Certification:Valid California Nurse Practitioner LicenseCurrent CPR/BLS certificationPreferred Skills & Attributes: Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferredStrong interest in pediatric preventative care and chronic disease managementExcellent interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrates alignment with the mission of community-based healthcarePhysical Requirements: Ability to move up to 20 lbs and push up to 50 lbs (on wheels)Sufficient hearing and vision for clinical functions and documentationHigh manual dexterity and physical mobility including bending, reaching, standing, kneeling
