Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist - Nights
The Senior Neurodiagnostic Technologist (Snr ND Tech), under direction from the Supervisor and lab protocols, will participate as an integral member of the Neurodiagnostic Services department by performing routine, specialized and complex Neurodiagnostic procedures to include: EEGs, ambulatory studies, Phase I Video EEG in the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU), Long Term Monitoring (LTME), live patient EEG monitoring, multi-modality Evoked Potentials (BAEP, VEP, SEP), Phase II invasive recordings: Prepares channel labels and montages for Grid, Strip, Depth electrode recordings. Performs bedside connectivity and integrity of invasive recordings according to lab protocols. Also performs ECoGs, cortical mapping, Wada testing and other specialized procedures in both inpatient and outpatient settings, including nursing floors, intensive care units, operating rooms and other specialized locations. The Snr ND Tech will ensure electrode and technical integrity and quality of all Neurodiagnostic procedures performed. Accurate results provide the physician with valuable information to diagnose and treat neurological conditions/disorders. The Snr ND Tech may participate in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, in-services, and staff development activities. Supports, mentors and trains less experienced ND staff members. The salary range for this position is $67.24 - $83.75 (Hourly Rate). Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. Required Qualifications
This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations. Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent At least five years of experience as an EEG Technologist or equivalent in a level 4 EMU Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics or a combination of training and experience is required Demonstrated competency in performing complex EEG's as well as in one or modalities such as EP, LTM, EMU etc. Demonstrated proficiency in Phase II invasive EEG, ECoG Proficient in with Neurodiagnostics software applications Knowledge and practice of electrical safety relevant to Neurodiagnostic equipment At least five years as an experience in an acute care hospital setting Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology Experience with computerized and diagnostic medical equipment Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and online communication Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills Demonstrated interpersonal skill in dealing with patients, family, caregivers, physicians, and clinical staff Demonstrates ability to be an independent, motivated self-starter Ability to work variable shifts and locations Preferred Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited training program in Neurodiagnostics is highly preferred Registered by ABRET in other modalities Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment, working on complex cases License/Certification
