Sr. Application Engineer

Position Summary: This position performs engineering work related to researching, designing, and developing components, or subsystems for engines used in the field of power generation. This position must be able to identify trends or root cause based on test data. The focus of this position is primarily on the development of reciprocating gas and diesel engine/power generation systems. Key Accountabilities: Manage product performance attributes and lifecycle management for new or existing products Specify, size, and select subsystem components for engine or power systems designs according to Engineering Guidelines Selects correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for new products or improvement for existing products Test and validate top level power systems as well as sub-level power system components Analyze engine/generator performance based on specified site conditions Calculate engine de-rate performance based on varying site conditions Review and verify product performance via testing Assess reliability performance of product versus requirement Contribute to Engine Calibration refinement via analytical analysis and testing When applicable, liaison with global engine development teams to complete analytics or testing Author test reports, performance summary reports, or other customer facing reports as needed Completes work according to standard engineering principles and practices Responsible to follow the company ERP procedures and maintenance as documented Responsible to follow the company quality management procedures as documented Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls Royce Code of Conduct. Perform special projects as required Basic Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time Bachelor's Degree in the Automotive, Mechanical or Software Engineering plus 5 years' experience in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical engineering or 9 years Automotive, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering experience. Preferred Qualifications: Excellent experience with any of the following systems: automotive, power generation, engine calibration, engine design, engine simulation Preferred experience with: MatlbabSimulink, NI Labview, PLC Programming, Networking (TCP, RS232, RS485, CANBus) Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent organizational, planning and follow-up skills Strong project management experience Strong interpersonal skills Strong oral and written communication skills Strong presentation skills Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
