Construction Project Manager - Commercial Construction

A well-established General Contractor in St. Petersburg, Florida is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead ground-up commercial construction projects. This is a long-term opportunity with a company known for high-quality execution and consistent repeat business.
About the Role:
The Project Manager will oversee all phases of construction, from preconstruction through project closeout. The ideal candidate will have experience managing commercial ground-up projects ranging from $5M to $25M, possess strong leadership skills, and have the ability to collaborate effectively with owners, architects, subcontractors, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting, and overall management of assigned construction projects
- Coordinate and communicate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients
- Manage project financials including cost tracking, forecasting, and change orders
- Ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and company standards
- Oversee project documentation, RFIs, submittals, and contracts
- Maintain a focus on safety, quality, and schedule adherence
- Participate in project meetings and report on status and progress
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor
- Proven experience managing ground-up commercial construction projects
- Strong understanding of construction means and methods, scheduling, and budgeting
- Proficiency with construction management software (Procore preferred)
- Ability to lead a project from preconstruction to closeout with minimal oversight
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with commercial retail, office, mixed-use, or light industrial projects
