Essential Functions:
  • Timely billing to residents/clients of all Foundation communities
  • Medical Assistance, Medicare, and insurance billing of all Foundation communities
  • Verification of insurance benefits
  • Investigate billing inquiries and follow through appropriately
  • Reconcile daily census
  • Post daily cash receipts
  • Post charges
  • Research, correct, and resubmit rejected or denied claims
  • Collection of aged accounts receivables
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information/records
  • Project a positive image of the organization when dealing with residents, clients, co-workers, and the public
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with residents, families, staff, and outside agencies
  • Fill in at the office reception as needed
  • Complete errands and other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
  • Occasional reaching at, below, and above shoulder height
  • Frequent twisting, stooping, bending, and stair climbing
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of boxes weighing 10-30 pounds
  • Occasional pushing/pulling of office equipment weighing up to 30 pounds
  • Work involves mostly sitting (85%), with standing (5%) and walking (10%)
  • Ability to adapt to interruptions and changing situations
Other Requirements:
  • Experience in insurance billing (Medicare, Medicaid, private insurance, etc.)
  • Knowledge of basic accounting procedures
  • Proficiency with computers, data entry, and office practices
  • Adherence to organizational, federal, and state regulations, including resident/client rights
  • Maintains a neat, professional appearance in accordance with dress code
