LHH is working with a client in the Kansas City, MO area, who is seeking to hire a Payroll Specialist. The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal regulations.
Responsibilities:
Process and manage weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for construction employees.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
Prepare and distribute paychecks and direct deposit statements.
Handle payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Prepare payroll reports for management.
Assist with year-end payroll procedures and reporting.
Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.
Collaborate with HR and accounting departments.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of payroll laws and regulations.
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
