Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Medical Center is an acute care hospital with 263 licensed beds, providing comprehensive care, including around-the-clock emergency care, surgical services, non-invasive robotic spine surgery, stroke care, radiology, and oncology services.
Responsibilities
  • The pharmacy technician specialist is responsible for the day-to-day operations of technician specialty practice areas (billing, diversion, automation, medication history, and others).
  • They will provide user support, perform maintenance activities and troubleshooting, monitor proper functionality, and ensure policies and procedures are both documented and followed.
  • Coordinates upgrade testing activities, education, and serves as the subject matter expert for the technician specialty practice area.
  • Does related work, as required, and, under the supervision of a pharmacist, will assist in the technical, non-clinical aspects of preparing medications for dispensing, mixing IVs, managing inventory, and assisting in pharmacy operations.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • 3+ years of previous hospital pharmacy technician experience (inclusive of training programs).
  • 1-year experience with identified specialty systems/processes.
  • Active Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing with the Board of Pharmacy, if required by the state of employment.
  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT).
  • BLS within 90 days of hire or transfer date into the role.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Associate's/bachelor's degree.
  • PTCB/ASHP Specialty Credentials (applicable to the specialty practice area).
